Hello Bruno,
You have a very fine web site, and your English is excellent. My wife & I have just returned from the Riviera staying in Le Cannet above Cannes in a lovely hotel (St Thomas).
We came by National Holiday coach from Hull in East Yorkshire, with an overnight stay in the Euro hotel on the outskirts of Paris, both ways. With our party we were very fortunate to have 2 drivers who absolutly knew the area, having covered the route for the past 6 years, I came across your web site looking for information on the disaster when the dam burst and flowed into Frejus.
The drivers pointed out the site of the dam and the remaining rocks and in Frejus a little tour of the Roman remains, as we were travelling on to Saint Raphael we didn't stop in Frejus, a shame as I am interested in things Roman.

We also visited Monte-Carlo, Saint Tropez, Antibes, Cannes and Nice. I was awe struck by the blue of the sea at Nice, whilst I had visited Nice as a child, I never imagined the blue sea could look so beautiful, here the North Sea is browny/green due to the sandy shore and the erosion of the cliffs.
I am in the process of printing out my photographs of our visit which I print 4 to an A4 page and place in a comb binder to hold the lot together, We loved the new? "Jardin Bonaparte"in St Raphael, and wondered the purpose of the purple legs in which I guess is a fountain, (not working at the time of our visit) but as we entered the garden we came across a man and assume his wife with a pair of purple legs under his arm, only later to come across the fountain to find 2 legs short, odd that?
Whilst away we missed devastating floods back home due to heavy rain, (the ground waterlogged due to an earlier severe downpour 1 week earlier (as photos show) We have never seen such flooding in 41 years we have lived here)).
We are even now still trying to dry our floors out, we lost a full Freezer in the garage when the power tripped and the dish washer in the house, the laminated floors in the living room and conservatory due to the flooding, but we were lucky with just an inch or two of flood water on the floor where some had water waist high. around 10,000 homes were damaged and 30,000 people are affected many evacuated to hotels, friends, families & caravans.
But the death toll is less than ten unlike Frejus when the dam burst. Well I'm sure you have lots to do, we wish you well in your endeavours and hope you sell plenty of homes.
Take care, thank you for your web site and your invitation to drop you a line.
Len Marsden (retired 67)
